Cinco De Mayo

Okay, so Cinco de Mayo was two days ago, but I just thought I'd post a few pics since I was gone most of the day yesterday...
Cinco de Mayo is also one of my best friend's (Ariadna's) birthday... so we went to a celebration in Sacramento called "Bloc Party".

Unfortunately we should have gone a little earlier, because when we got there it was the tail end of everything. Even the band was wrapping up, the mechanical bulls were gone (not that I was going to ride them anyways!), and pretty much everything advertised on the tickets were gone as well.

(We had to tease Ariadna about dancing with Kevin Federline/AJ Littrell)

I'm Back :)

So I just wanted to pop in and say hello after my recent absence.

My first semester officially wrapped up last week, and while I was happy to be done with some of the monster papers in those classes... I was a little sad to be done at the same time. I met a lot of nice people, and will probably keep in touch with a few, but we all know how that really goes when you leave a class...

I don't have much to write about in here, but I think I will try and do a book review later on today for the book that I just finished called Water for Elephants.

But yeah, nothing much new with me, my grandparents are in town, so we've been spending a lot of time with family the past few days, which is always nice :)

I also got out of class a little early last Thursday night and finally got a chance to go to one of Russ' softball games. It was really fun! Not to mention he looked pretty darn cute out there ;)

Well, not much else to say, I will update when there is! :)

MIA...

Okay, so that's not literally me above, but my desk does look pretty similar right now. I am wrapping up this semester and have quite a few assignments (two of which are total monsters, ughhh). Just wanted to let you know why I'm not updating both here, and at Chic Chat if you are a reader :)
Since I am taking a little break from a paper on the fourteenth Dalai Lama, I thought I'd share something that I read by him. I have another assignment (this one was easy) to bring in something meaningful to us, and I think I will read these aloud for that assignment.
Enjoy :)
The Dalai Lama's 18 Rules for Living

1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs:
Respect for self
Respect for others
Responsibility for all your actions.
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Ok Seriously...

I got into my car and was driving down the road when I glanced down at my dashboard.

102.

It's not even May.

This...is...ridiculous...

Sorry, just had to complain to someone ;)

My Weekend in Pictures

Delilah on our front walkway...

Russ, trying to repair the patches in our lawn...

Delilah after the groomers... She smells great too... like a pina colada puppy :P
I took her to Petco... they trimmed her nails, hair on feet, brushed her teeth (OMG I would pay them just to do that), cleaned her ears (once again, would pay just for that), wash, condition, and dry her. 25 bucks! Can't beat it...
Our weekend as you can see from the pictures has been pretty peaceful and quiet. On Saturday we went to the mall
** Just a side note (I needed to exchange some pants... I had bought petite (length wise, lol), and the other pair I have that were petites kept shrinking on me until they were highwaters! What gives? I went back to trade for the normal length, and the sales lady informed me that pants shrink, in length even up to an inch after four washes, good to know, huh?!)

Anyyyways.... so later that night I went to the 3rd Saturday art walk with some friends here, it was nice and quiet, nothing as big as the 2nd Saturday in Sacramento. We ended with some dinner at a little grill.
After that, I went and saw I Love You Man with Russ. It was pretty funny.
Plus I think Paul Rudd is just so darn cute. And loved loved Rashida Jones' character's wardrobe throughout the movie. Cute cute cute.

So that's pretty much it. I just finished up some of my psychology homework and will be heading off to the local used book store soon :)
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Surprise!

How fun! And I'm sure glad I put on some makeup because I was tagged by Kirby Leigh over at The Invention of My Life to do this fun tag :)

Basically just snap a picture of yourself, this VERY moment, no hair and makeup adjustments.

Actually quite a nice picture, aside from sunglasses marks on my nose :)

I'm not sure how many we were supposed to tag, but this seemed fun to me so I'll just tag a handful of you...
-How about all Chic Chat Authors :)
-Tricia
-Brandi
-Author of Pretty Little Pictures
-Stacy
-And some new readers to my blog, Emily & Tiffany

I'm off to go get my "weenie baby" (Delilah) from the groomer :) I mostly take her there for the teeth brushing that they do... last time I tried on my own, there was doggy toothpaste everywhere.

Just had to share...

Wow Wow Wow.

I'm sure that many of you have already seen this clip, but I just wanted to share this because I think it's phenomenal. I also think it really goes to show you how much we judge people before even knowing them...

And I'm so sorry, but I can't find a you tube video that gives me the option of posting it here on my blog, so here is a direct link to one of the videos... (I will update this entry if I can find one that has an embed code)
